Get Out The Map

Another bit of evidence that Henry is indeed DRS's son (not that any evidence is needed…), is his love of maps.

He draws maps of foreign lands and maps to exciting treasures in the little blank books he keeps all over the house.

And recently, he's used maps to practice his handwriting.

So, the moral of this story is that he needed to be introduced to the Indigo Girls.

One of my favorite songs of theirs is Get Out the Map.

It goes like this:
Get out the map, get out the map and lay your finger anywhere down.
We’ll leave the figuring to those we pass on the way out of town.
Don’t drink the water, there seems to be something ailing everyone.
I’m gonna clear my head.
I’m gonna drink that sun.
I’m gonna love you good and strong while our love is good and young.

Small side note: Dave says The Indigo Girls are hippies (our favorite word). Which could possibly be true.  Which makes me loves them more.  And Henry loves the song.  Loves maps.  So I say the girls write songs specifically geared to the Seattle Seward population.

Now, Henry.  Where are we going next?

Jungle Cat.

So.  The Fella's back in t-ball.

And, although it's not entirely competitive...

It's a hell of a lot of fun.

And Henry's not afraid to take his turn at bat (he snuck in three or four times, when most kids got one time up on the diamond - HEY, it's iniative, man.  Iniative.)

And he also helped picked the team name.

The Cheetas.

Lawrd, help me.

It can't be too bad though.  Check out our coach's hat.

Hook em' horns.  Hit em' Henry.

Waiting.

She tries to help with dinner sometimes.

But mostly she just waits.

1.) Spring

2.)  The Zac Brown Band plus James Taylor at the Academy of Country Music awards (thanks for the tip, mom!)

4.) Those Sewards.

5.) And news out of Texas that the newest Gill baby will be a girl.

Sometimes.

A fella just needs to write.

A girl just needs to be happy.

And a family just needs to go to da park.

The end.
